Prosecutors revealed that she created nearly $500,000 in fake invoices, set up two fictitious daycare businesses, and used non-profit funds for personal travel to Hawaii, Nigeria, and Liberia, while funnelling money to herself, friends, and family with the help of ELNC’s bookkeeper Sharon Killebrew.
The fraud spanned several years and targeted taxpayer-funded grants and subsidies designed to support disadvantaged pre-schoolers, ultimately forcing the closure of ELNC in 2023 after twelve years of service.
The non-profit had prepared about 8,000 pre-schoolers for kindergarten across Kent County, Kalamazoo, and Battle Creek, and its collapse is a devastating blow to the community.
Ezeh, who was once appointed by Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer to education boards, entered her plea in December 2025 to avoid grand jury indictment .
She faces up to 20 years in prison along with restitution orders.
Hmmm Greed, lack of empathy, selfishness and wickedness; Why can't most Nigerians see past these things. Why can't they work on themselves.
ReplyDeleteSay some Nigerians, the ones who inherited criminality.
DeleteThere are millions who won't tow this path and they are in the USA.
Off to jail Ma'am.
"Ori na adi na obala" is a strong axiom in Igboland.

Thank you for your comment Anon 18:39. I am in Canada and lived in the USA for a while. The number of Nigerians doing honest work and occupying nice positions out-weighs the corrupt and greedy ones we hear or read about on Social Media. There is one nominated for an award for his positive impact in my city and shown on tv everyday. There are many more in my workplace both new and old to the country making great things happen and making me a proud Nigeria. They are in many nations around the world.

ReplyDeleteSome Nigerian don't know that the system works in Europe and America, including some parts of Asia. It may seems as if you will get away with it, but no matter the years it will catch up with you, even in your death, and if it does you will pay for it; and on that path, no mercy or sympathy.
ReplyDeleteWow....$500,000 fake invoices...that's greediness on another level.

ReplyDeleteLack of contentment. A mother at that
ReplyDeleteOne of her team members must have snitched on her.
ReplyDeleteIt is super easy to get away with fraud in the corporate world; hence many CEOs are deeply involved in cutting corners through technology.
Many celebrated bank owners and staff in Nigeria are corporate thieves who walk free because we are backward in this part of the world.
Always play by the book; and do not ever be caught on the wrong side of the law.
Greedy professor 🙄🙄🙄
ReplyDeleteHow can this much be given to you and you still chose GREED? Something you would probably never have attained in your home country. Thereby negatively affecting people coming after you? Africans, especially Nigerians must do better.
ReplyDeleteSMH
ReplyDeleteSometimes you have to wonder. Why would someone whose reputation is built upon ethics even get involved in the fkry? Middle-aged professionals are wrecking their careers and reputations at alarming rates over serious foolishness.
ReplyDeleteNow, imagine someone like this in a political position!!
ReplyDeleteThis one too go dey shout that she wants a better Nigeria
