Senate Summons Ex-NNPCL Boss Mele Kyari Over ₦210 Trillion Unaccounted Funds

210 Trillion unaccounted for......!!!
The Nigerian Senate via its Committee on Public Accounts has summoned the former Group Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), Mele Kyari, along with other top ex-officials to give accounts of  ₦210 trillion that was not properly accounted for between 2017 and 2023.

The committee chairman, Senator Ahmed Wadada, made this public during a briefing. He explained that the figure comes from two main issues in NNPCL's financial records: ₦103 trillion listed as accrued expenses and ₦107 trillion as sundry receivables. These items were flagged in audit reports from the Office of the Auditor-General for the Federation, but the explanations given so far have not satisfied the lawmakers.

The summoned officials include:
- Mele Kyari (former GCEO)
- Umar Ajiya Isa (former Chief Financial Officer)
- Dr. Bala Wunti (former Group General Manager of NAPIMS)

Current NNPCL management and external auditors have also been asked to appear. The committee has given them seven days to show up and provide clear answers. If they fail to appear, the Senate says it will issue arrest warrants and may order the refund of the ₦210 trillion to the federation account.

  3. That is 1 billion naira into 210,000(two hundred and ten thousand) place. As in, 1 million naira into 210, 000,000 (two hundred and ten million) places.
With that amount, he can make 210,000,000(two and ten million) people a millionaire..

    Chai!!!

  4. So if this man spend 1M a day, it will take him approximately 575 years to finish the money without without working again.
Judging from his age , he needs to be spending 20 to 25 million naira a day to be able to finish that money before his death.
