Drama King Teejay's CORNER

Nothing hits as hard as being stagnant in life. It’s an experience that erodes one’s mental strength and sense of purpose

Stagnation, when not handled properly to pull out of it, often leads to depression. I remember back when things got so tough and difficult for me. I got to a point where I was losing it. Nothing seemed to be working.

At that moment, there was no kind of thought I wouldn’t entertain. From the spiritual angle to ancestral foundations. Sometimes even religious assumptions, not being upright, or not fulfilling tithe practices, as most Pentecostal churches often attribute to tight situations.
Now let’s understand what stagnation is all about. It’s being held at one spot over a period of time without any progressive impact or results. You can’t rise above your desired expectations. You’re just a few kilometers away from rock bottom. This is the very point where some people lose it in life.

There’s an adage that says, “A man who doesn’t know where the rain began to beat him can’t say where he dried himself.”

It takes willpower, mental strength, and determination to pull through stagnation. First, there are things you need to know and understand. According to Albert Einstein, “You can’t solve a problem with the same mindset that created it.” In other words, there must be a shift in mental reasoning, assessment, awareness, and realization.

Self-discovery. This is one great journey of life capable of restoration. Assess your present situation and take into cognizance how things deteriorated to this point. In doing that, you must realize and reassure yourself, this isn’t who you’re meant to be.
Let me also say this as I draw to a close. Never let a thought, belief, or superstition control your mindset. You must express your desire for change. If possible, yell to yourself, “I can’t continue this way anymore.” Move deliberately and positively toward new opportunities. Sometimes taking a new route turns out to be the best decision you’ve ever made. Never underestimate your willpower and strength when life gets hard. Sometimes you need to push yourself to grow. No one is coming to save you. If you must succeed, you need to fight against the odds and limitations.
Remember this: you can never grow in comfort, let alone in stagnation.

  3. Hello Teejay,
Honesty, anyone who has felt or experienced being left behind knows how easily prolonged stagnation can drain confidence and tempt the mind towards fear, blame or easy explanations. That is a real-life situation.

What matters, though, is remembering that not every setback comes from a flawed mindset, just as not every breakthrough comes from sheer determination. Sometimes, circumstances, opportunity and timing also play their part. The challenge is to separate what you cannot change from what you still can.

Progress rarely begins with certainty. It begins when you refuse to let today's position become your permanent identity. Nicely written.
