 A 38-year-old mother of 10, Barira Alhassan, has accused the Gombe State Specialist Hospital of removing one of her kidneys during a Caesarean section, an allegation the hospital has denied, insisting that available medical findings indicate that she may have been born with only one kidney. The allegation has sparked concern among residents, with the woman’s family calling for an independent and comprehensive investigation to establish what transpired.


The Inspector General of Police, IGP, Tunji Disu, has warned political parties against instigating violence ahead of the August 15, 2026, governorship election in Osun State. Disu gave the warning during a visit to Governor Ademola Adeleke at the Government House, Oke-Fia, Osogbo, before holding a meeting with political parties at the state Police Headquarters.

 Bandits have killed the Village Head of Kulodo in Bodinga Local Government Area of Sokoto State, Alhaji Abubakar Tudu, his eldest son, Abubakar Abubakar, and four other residents in a fresh attack on the community. The assailants also killed another resident in neighbouring Kwance village during the raid. The attack occurred while residents were observing the Asr prayer.

 The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has extended the ongoing nationwide Continuous Voter Registration CVR by two weeks, moving the deadline from 10th July to Friday, 24th July, 2026. National Commissioner and Chairman of the Information and Voter Education Committee IVEC at the commission, Mohammed Kudu Haruna, disclosed this on Friday night in Abuja.

President Bola Tinubu’s Special Investigator on the Central Bank of Nigeria, Jim Obazee, on Friday told the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, that the late former President Muhammadu Buhari ought to have faced trial over the alleged $6.2m fraud involving the apex bank. Obazee testified as a prosecution witness for the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission in the ongoing trial of former CBN governor, Godwin Emefiele.

 Bauchi State Police Command has rescued two kidnap victims during a joint security operation in Gwamnare Forest, Ningi Local Government Area of the state. The command said the operation was carried out by a combined team of the Violent Crime Response Unit, Anti-Kidnapping Unit, the Divisional Police Officer in Ningi and Forestry Guards.

 The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency has warned members of the public to disregard fraudulent offers purportedly advertising forfeited vehicles for sale at cheap prices. The agency, in a statement issued on Friday in Abuja by its Director of Media and Advocacy, Femi Babafemi, said the scam was being perpetrated by criminals impersonating senior officials of the agency.

 Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has declared that he does not condone criminality, saying security agencies should arrest anyone found culpable, including members of his family. Adeleke made the remarks on Friday while responding to the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, during a courtesy visit to the Government House in Osogbo, the state capital.

    These people should be cut off from Nigeria because what is this? They deserve their own country.
    They keep birthing kids like rats without proper training, then those kids will grow up on the streets, enter Forest and become terrorists disturbing other parts of the country.

    1. Let them birth. There are those who didn’t give birth to any or just one, it balances out. A population has to exist so a country isn’t taken over by outsiders, plus if ppl aren’t alive who will pay your pension when you get old.
