This move is aimed at making the scheme more relevant to today’s graduates through skills, safety, and modernization.
Under the new plan, a civilian will now head the NYSC’s daily operations, while the military continues to handle corps members’ security nationwide.
The President has directed the Attorney‑General of the Federation, Lateef Fagbemi, and the Minister of Youth Development, Ayodele Olawande, to update the NYSC Act so the reforms can begin immediately.
Key Changes
--Digital call‑up letters for smoother mobilization.
--Safer postings based on location risk assessments.
--Orientation camp extended to six weeks, focusing on leadership, entrepreneurship, and digital skills.
--Career‑aligned work assignments matching graduates’ fields of study.
--Camp grading system to improve facilities nationwide.
--Passing Out Parade replaced with a formal graduation ceremony.

DeleteIt is not useless at all. A lot of graduates gather money from it to start up a business. You learn few things from where you are posted and can also make friends and start life over there.
DeleteThat six week proposal is not a good idea.
ReplyDeleteHe is yet to anything concerning the hostages in Oyo state. Why?
