ReplyDeleteOne valuable lesson that can be learned from this saga is, you can NEVER please everybody so do whatever your conscience allows and stand by your decisions. This is a good example of a catch 22 situation, damned if you do, damned if you don't. There's really nothing Tiwa could have done that some people wouldn't still haul e-stones at her.
ReplyDeleteShe was dressed down for the interview, some people regarded that as proof of the alleged stage-management. If she had appeared flashy and all doled up, she would still have been nailed to an e-cross. She utilised her right to reply timeously, some people said she should have waited a while. If she had waited a while, some people will call her out for bringing up the issue when passion has cooled and people have moved on to the next scandalous gist. She may even be accused of delaying her reply so she could have time to cook up defensive lies. She decided to open up, some people said a dignified silence would have been more effective. If she had taken the dignified route of silence, some people would say she is guilty of all the allegations, hence her refusal to give her side of the story. So, please, which way to go?
She should do whatever will help her feel better because she's the one hurting, not the "spectators". If the interview was cathartic, so be it, it's her life on display after all. We aren't the ones going through a rough patch. It's always easier to pontificate when you aren't in the eye of the storm. Suddenly opinions and criticisms are flying right, left and center from some people who may not know a thing about marriage and would even do worse if they find themselves in a similar situation. That's one of life's cruelest ironies, while some people are going through traumatic experiences, other people are using the misery to catch trip and get thoroughly entertained. Suddenly people want to get their marriage counselling certificate from this unfortunate saga.
I pray God grants both of them peace, especially because of their son.
