Awon stay and pray for your marriage geng what do y'all have to say about this?

It takes two to make a marriage work and no matter the effort put by just one party involved, it can never work out.

Sad she died while trying to save her marriage.

    1. @Bitch
Must you fast for 14 days to save your marriage?
At least I have fasted for 7 days before and I was not rushed to any hospital.
And I wasn't fasting to save my marriage. I was just fasting to seek God. Was that 7 days my first?
      No. I struggled with 6-12, 6-2, to 6, 1 day, 2, 3, 4 and then 7. Have I
come here to ask you to fast for seven days? No. The Scripture says; Train yourself
unto godliness...1 Timothy 4:6-8. It is just like you getting into a marathon race without
training. People shouldn't wait till they have problems (in their marriages) before learning to
fast. Fasting was taught by Jesus and you and I should not discourage people from fasting.

    2. @Anony 09:12, you do know that people with chronic medical conditions are advised to not embark on some types of fasting.. And yes there are various types.. In that case then how will they seek God according to your theory.. Please do not burden others with your religious bigotry!

Hello dearie @anon 09:12, I never discourage anyone from fasting.

It's a choice when one chose to fast and should be a gradual process.

I'm not even talking about her fasting.

Just like in your case you weren't fasting to save your marriage but the case of this woman is different.

She was fasting to save a marriage that the man involved was/is definitely not doing anything to keep/save and now she's gone and he'll keep on flexing and enjoying life.

That's likely what her pastor told her that would restore her marriage.

Nobody should force anyone to fast or discourage anyone from fasting.

Las las do what is good for you and what's at peace with body and soul.

    1. Personally I dont believe fasting can save a fragile marriage, can fasting return lost emotions a man once had for you? Most marriages wouldnt crumble in Nigeria if there was an efficacy to that.
It's like an unemployed youth sitting at home 247 & fasting to get a job.

And im sure she left kids behind. Women need to stop placing their whole existence on a man honestly.
Dry fasting on a man dat is enjoying himself abt. God forbid

    1. She was breaking her fast with honey and water. So it wasn’t dry fasting

    2. Probably she died from lack of sleep.

It kills faster than lack of food.

  9. did you read that she was breaking her fast with honey and water. tell me how her body was going to survive on only that. Be careful the kind of prayer and fasting a pastor gives you

  10. You refuse to fuel your car, but you expect it to navigate you from point A-Z, just so you could pick up what you left off. This religion is beginning to do more harm than good.

    1. You can imagine going through all these for something that is not a do or die affair. My peace, health, happiness, joy, mental health etc, are more important to me than my marriage. The way these illiterate religious leaders keep deceiving their gullible followers is so annoying. I can die in marriage but never because of my marriage. One person can't make a marriage to work.

    2. Hmmm... I remember one of Jeweluchi's stories of a friend that died at child birth and the husband remarried 3 months after. I won't be surprised if the same scenario happens here.
Remembering that story leaves me traumatized.

  11. Some women are trying with the way they carry mans matter on their head.
God forbid I try such in this marriage wey I dey so whether he dey go south or north.
    I certainly care less..

  12. And most men will never fast to save their marriage... Never.. it is always on to the next... Well what do I know it is a man's world(sic)

  13. Hahahaha. The headline though. Marriage isn't by force. What's with this society and marriage sef? Marriage itself is good (even though not compulsory) and should be entered into with all senses on. It should never be rushed into. Never. She "probably" didn't want to be unmarried at 30 hence ignoring all the signs. A lady who marries at 45 and sees who she finally wants and is satisfied is better than a lady who marries at 25 and is busy fasting at age 30. I mean no disrespect to the dead please. Rip to her.
Now the man would go and marry o (cos it's obvious he's young too). Chai.
Marriage is not by force. Don't rush into it abeg. Being unmarried sef is no curse please. Las Las have kids or adopt if the pressure is too much. No go dey fast upandan.
I dey pity Nigerian women I swear

  14. She wanted to 'save' her marriage because of ppl like caesar that will look @her in a scornful way and scream 'you shouldn't have left your marriage'(making her shed bucket of tears) regardless of whatever shit you have to put up with.
I pity those following that egungun's advice. See you see 'highway'. Nonsense judgemental society!

  15. That’s why it’s so important for a woman to get a life and pursue her purpose and dreams in life first before marriage.
Probably marriage was all she had going on for her if not I don’t see the need of going so extreme to save it.
May her soul Rest In Peace.

  16. Fasting for her marriage is not the issue here. The fast was done unreasonably. It is the same fast am sure the pastor would have recommended if the person was seeking for job, trying to conceive, illness, children etc. Know your God for your self, don't follow your pastors blindly. Some people have died or ran mad from doing stupid things in the name of spirituality aside from marital issues

  17. I was in her shoes years ago, went for prayers, counselling and nearly fasted myself out of existence. One day while praying in the empty auditorium, i asked myself, things will not change if you dont get up, do something and ask God for help. All ds while hubby was doing well at work and always looked at me like i irritated him. I got my piece of land fenced with money i had saved up over the years, poured and leveled laterite and granite on the land, Built a shed and dug a well. I went to mu uncle and asked for 2Million loan, he asked me to pay back N1.5. I bought poultry battery cages, feeds, egg crates and 1,000 6week old chicks. All these i did alone with my cousin. When i had up to 100 crates, i started supplying hotels, restaurants and individuals all ds while hubby thought dt i was still crying about him. I started changing my wardrobe and hair etc and then boom- divorce letter...i made it easy for him cos he had nothing to fight for. Today i have 4 big sheds which produces about 15,000 eggs weekly with a supply truck and an accountant. supply has been great and will open an egg and chicken shop by month end. And guess who has been retrenched from his job?...🀣. God has been kind to me and my son. Please pray and fast but ask God to be your CEO and see miracles.
N.B yes there were false starts in the biz but was expecting it cos its normal .

    3. Wonderful! This is how to apply wisdom then thinking fasting and prayers will solve what common sence can solve.

  18. And the man she was fasting and praying for is still alive.
Hopefully he will marry another woman.
Ladies ,no man is worth dying for .
If it is beyond you, take it to God while taking care of yourself.

  19. It's not about the fasting, 'cos fasting works. There are many others who have fasted, with testimonies; and we have considered their stories as inspirational. Just know what ur body can take. God already knows ur needs and will answer as he sees fit. Faith and good works are key, at all times.

  20. That was how they said I should fast for 3 days straight without eating in mfm that it's going to heal my ulcer I almost did it, if not for my cousin that discouraged me maybe my enemy would have been dead by now

  21. Everything is not about praying but applying common sence.
How about she change some things about her life
How about the pastor tell her apply a new dimension to her marriage?
How does fasting change one's atitude in a marriage especially when the problem is from you?
No matter how bad the husband is, fasting will not change him. Maybe her change of attitude will, maybe her new approach at home will change it, maybe giving him a break will change it, maybe leaving the marriage would have been best, maybe visiting a psychologist with her man would have helped.
What is with women and trying to save their marriage with fasting instead of action.
Who is that pastor that think that prayer was the solution?
Did the pastor call the man to know what is going on?
So many questions begging for answer.

  22. You need salt and electrolytes if you are fasting. Break your fast with coconut water which will provide you with the electrolytes, sodium and minerals that you need. All your cellular activity requires salt, you can't just exclude salt out of your life especially in a hot country where you are sweating buckets.

These churches need to start providing concrete medical information to their members about fasting and how to fast safely, before encouraging ppl to fast. Something like this should not have happened in this time with all the knowledge that we have. Please do not let anyone tell you about fasting until you have had a full medical checkup and know how to fast correctly and safely.

  23. My guess is that the husband was eating and sleeping, perhaps unaware that the marriage was in need of saving. You've got this one life people.
