    1. You guys should go read the article by David Hundeyin titled "Suicide, Fraud and Phillips Consulting: The Story Of West Africa's Chinese Loan Shark Mafia"
It'll give you a perfect understanding of what this is all about.

    1. I’m telling you. You need to see some of the degrading things they write about people owing them.
I’m not saying it’s okay to owe, but you can’t just manufacture lies and send out to the public. They are evil.

  4. I don't believe this but it's Nigeria and if the app is Nigerian owned then...

  5. If l didn't sign as anyone's guarantor and you send me this kinda message, na thunder go strike you. You are a thief and a criminal. I fit come find you arrest you 🤧

  6. Ha! This is too much o, haba.

  7. People don't like paying back after getting the loan. The companies look for every possible way to get their money back.

  8. This is a violation of Nigerian Data Privacy regulations. All it would take is for one person to sue them successfully.

  9. I blast them never to contact me once I receive these messages.

  10. These loan apps are really doing the most, ever ready to shame people. Most of them are owned by Chinese, they dont give a fuck if u are embarrassed o. Again u can't blame them, the average Nigerian will not pay back such a loan that there's no collateral if some form of force is not applied to get the money back. May God not let me or my family see reason to borrow money in Jesus name.

    1. They pay back ..the interest is high and it's just a week loan. When you are in a tight corner and no other option you just have to borrow from them. But then just cause it's a week and you default for some days. Problem.

    2. how would these damaging message now make the person clear/service his loan? yes he/she defaulted in payment and you think this is supposed to work.
As much as i value my dignity, and May God not allow me be in this situation, but if me, you can not shame me and still expect the money back; unless maybe this message is a form of payback for them..

Just like the message i got from Lemon loan telling me that a particular person has HIV with his family members and so cannot pay his loan as his wife is dying, if I can help the named person. To say i was "shook" is an understatement

    3. Anon 12:05, are you for real? Did they actually use HIV for real?

I see loan apps come from unregistered money lenders who will have zero recourse to get the loan other than the usual blackmail of embarrassing you.
Nigerians are terrible when it comes with repayment of debt, even when you lend a colleague or a friend money, you'd most likely lose that money along with the friendship, then u can imagine them owing an online app, that's expecting the cows to come home after grazing.

    1. It’s not that they have zero recourse, it’s that usually the amounts are too small and the most ‘inexpensive’ approach to debt collection is blackmail and shame. How much money would you want to spend to chase a 7k or 20k debtor?

    2. Your second paragraph is the absolute truth @False Prophet. Give Nigerians what you can afford to let go otherwise na sorry be your name. Some of them will even go and do jazz so that the lender can forget or die if na big money. It's when they want to borrow that they come in their humble form promising heaven and earth. The moment they collect the money kpekem! Their remote control don enter Lucker hand be dat. They will remind you that even Nigeria is still owing China. Zero integrity!

  12. Yesterday was my first time of using an app loan, I borrowed 3k from them to take hold body, spirit and soul together. I pray I pay it back before the due date

    We go survive ✌️✌️

    1. If possible, please avoid taking loans from these companies to hold body and soul together, except you know exactly when you will pay (e.g next paycheck). Better to ask your friend in confidence than run the risk of these loan companies broadcasting your business to your entire phone contact list. May God come through for you.

  13. This one na small thing...loan app called all my contacts and told them, they were my guarantor. Even called my children school, just because I defaulted for a week. The loan is just a week loan...you borrow to pay in 7 days. They started adding interest on a daily I collected 12k to pay 17k in 6 days, I defaulted for about 8 days, the daily interest now made the loan 25k. They started calling everyone of my contacts, that they were my guarantor...
that I was a criminal on the run,no be small o! I just paid them the 17k they started asking for the balance 8k. I said they should go to station and lay a complain. Trust me this is the highest they can do. After this disgrace,it's your choice to pay them or not. They are illegal.

    1. Do you know it will be updated on credit bureau?even if you are owing 2k it will be there and no loan organization will ever give you loan again unless your record is cleared. If you have the money clear it and make sure your record is updated on the bureau.

      Delete
    2. anon 11.41 they are not registered. I know that because if you have an outstanding loan with bank for example, you cannot qualify for a loan at another bank till you clear it, unlike all this unregistered loan facilities

      Delete
    3. Lol.. their kinda loan business isn’t FG/CBN approved so they aren’t registered.

    4. Which credit bureau??? You did not read the expose David Hundeyin wrote about them? They are thieves! How can a thief be involved in with credit bureau? They are wicked souls, look at the kind of shame and evil they are causing in people’s lives for small amount of money. God help us.

  14. If you know you can borrow but cannot pay back and worst till you act nonchalant to paying back why borrow in the first place? Okay, agreed that circumstances these days is not favourable to most people at least borrow what you can pay back please instead of this public disgrace.

  16. Can you imagine. I got similar message from one loan app like that few months ago that my friend his owing them and refused to pay back, I should report to nearby police station before they will declare him wanted. When I contact the Said person, he said he explained to them he doesn't have the money at that moment, they should give him a week interval, they refused and started spreading messages to all his friends. That I should not mind them, he will pay😀😀😀.

  19. Some Nigerians big and small have the bad habit of not repaying loans. Some even taunt and insult lenders.

Every loan app user should by now know what he or she is getting into. With posts like this, enough notice has been served to prospective loan seekers. But Nigeria is largely a country of sentimental, cultural and religious based decision makers - no job but collecting a loan from a loan shark in the belief that God will provide repayment before due date. What is most likely to happen is a demand like this because God is sovereign, not a man.

  20. I went through depression because of these people. All these started after Covid 19 and the bad economy. Please Nigerian government should find a way of dealing with these people

  21. Nigerians are too damn emotional. I will take their loan and they can threaten me all they want. I don’t give a damn
