The Intelligence Response Team, IRT, under the Force Intelligence Bureau, FIB, took Aigbe into custody.
The police commenced an investigation after a video circulated on social media.
The cleric was pictured preaching in church on Sunday February 12, 2023 while carrying the rifle on his left shoulder.
It is alleged that one Inspector Musa Audu handed his service weapon to Aigbe. The officer will face an orderly room trial.
Commissioner of Police, Federal Capital Territory Command, Sadiq Abubakar wants Audu dismissed for the misconduct.
The CP has made a formal recommendation to the Inspector-General of Police, Usman Baba.
The security agency is expected to provide an update on the matter.
from daily post
So it was an Inspector that even handed him the AK 47. Isorite.
ReplyDeleteBut really, what was he thinking? What point was he trying to prove exactly? He will go and explain at the police station.
DeleteVery wrong from the Officer who released the gun to him. It's against the rule of the police force and may warrant his dismissal. It would have been a different thing if he's a pastor and a security personnel.
ReplyDeleteEzege..
DeleteSaw your comment on the last post about the weapon being licensed.. NO, in Nigeria you can't be licensed to carry this weapon as a civilian, it's an assualt rifle.. it doesn't fall under the category of guns that are used for self defense.. if you apply for a licensed weapon, what would can possess is stuff like a double barrel gun, not even a pistol.. you know those guns you can't shoot rapidly, but can only contain like just 2 cartridge.. So when you shoot you reload, after all you're not defending yourself against an army, that one is left for the military/paramilitary to handle..
You begin to ask yourself why herdsmen have been alleged to be seen with AK-47 and haven't been arrested..
I don't know if the pastor thought the church is like the Red Chamber where immunity covers everything they do or say.. anyway, he said he is ready for war, let's see how the battle with the police go for him.
Goodluck
What is this pastor thinking for Christ sake most especially putting his principal in bad light

ReplyDeleteAlways think things through before you make a decision. Think about the why and the repercussions,a projected picture of a gun would have been used,if at all it is necessary.
