My brother and the wife are trying to conceive.
Four years ago, she got pregnant but had complications and this led to the removal of her womb. Now they are looking for surrogate mother but the price is so high that they can not afford it.
I love my brother so much cos he sacrificed a lot for me when I was in school. And seeing how he loves children breaks my heart.

I am nursing the idea to be their surrogate mum with my egg and my brothers s#men, but I am afraid how they will see it if I tell them.

God bless you for having such thoughts towards your brother but i dont think this is possible.... It is remote incest.... If it was your sister in laws eggs and your brothers s#men, it would have been OK but yours and his is a NO NO NO!

Madam,you can't your eggs and your brothers semen na. That's tantamount to you and your brother having sex and having a child. They will use the wife's egg (or a donor's egg that is not rated to your brother) and your brothers semen to make the embryo and you will carry the pregnancy to term for them. It's a very noble gesture but be sure that you can handle the whole thing before you volunteer to do it.

You might one day begin to see the child as your own which will not be good for your brother and his wife. He can adopt or get a neutral person to do it for them.
She should get some else's egg naaah.. not your own.

It is too risky if they are going to use your eggs, there will be a potential risk for a genetic disorder to develop. If they will use your bother’s sperm to fertilize your sil’s egg and simply use your womb to carry the fertilized egg then that is fine.
ReplyDeleteIncest involves a sexual act, since your suggestion involves no intercourse then it is not incest. The only issue is if your eggs will be used, it cannot be because of the genetic component. But you can carry their embryo and give them their child, unless the doctors reject the suggestion. Please ensure that if you go down this road that there is a legal agreement in place, for both yours and their protection. They should finance your food, doctors visits, supplements, special clothes and such, and most importantly that they will take their child upon birth. Sometimes ppl will say and agree to anything in their desperation but not deliver at the appointed time. Though your brother sound like an upstanding person, do not get involved without a legal agreement in place.
It's inbreeding... She cannot be their surrogate at all if she's using her eggs.

ReplyDeletePoster, you didn’t say if it was a total hysterectomy (uterus, fallopian tubes and ovaries) that were removed or partial, in which case some reproductive organs are preserved, hopefully the ovaries in this case
1. You can definitely be a surrogate for your brother.
2. Being pregnant with your brother’s child does not amount to incest. It’s on the same scale as donating an organ to a sibling
3. In the case your sister in law had her ovaries removed, her sister’s or mother’s egg will be the closest to her biological child they will have should you need an egg donor
4. Your egg will not be straight up incest unless intercourse is involved but it may lead to same medical complications of incest births like genetic diseases and inborn errors
Personally I see unpaid surrogates as heroes. They wear same capes organ donors wear in my eyes

ReplyDeleteAre you saying his wife cannot also produce eggs? If she cannot produce eggs you people should look for a donor or her sisters can assist on that one while you carry the pregnancy to term.

They took out your sis in laws womb and not her ovaries and if her ovaries are out, a donor egg will be used which ain't yours. You will only have IVF done, the fertilized embryo transfered to your womb and God Willingboro will implant and you give birth to your nephew or niece.
There is nothing wrong in you being a surrogate for your brother, mother shave even been surrogates for their daughters.
It's also not advisable to do surrogate if you haven't had a child before. The doctors will not even agree
ReplyDeleteExactly once she haven't had a child before she is already a minus, sometimes familial love can make us give our families the best wish to sie for them but there are levels we can carry them as a first timer you ll be so attached to the child that it might cause problem for the wife and everyone in the future let the wife s family come in or another person entirely
